Sometimes I forget…and need to be reminded
“Sometimes it seems like God is difficult to find and impossibly far away. We get so caught up in our small daily duties and irritations that they become the only things that we can focus on. What we forget is that God’s love and beauty are all around us, every day, if only we would take the time to look up and see them ”
So I recently became involved in something I never thought would turn out to be what i want to dedicate my entire life’s work to. Though the past three weeks i have been involved in non profit work and my church I discovered something, the goodness of people is one of the most amazing things I have witnessed in my 18 years. I have gone through my entire life thinking the worst of people, and recently when my entire ideology got flipped, I discovered the goodness in people’s heart, that there are still people who give and give all they have, and want no recognition in return. I want to say thank you, I had an anonymous person change my life, not just the fact that i don’t have to stress over my own problems and can now use all my time to help others who need it a lot more than me, but the simple fact that I subconsciously still believed that the people who had more than enough, or the people who were well off didn’t care about the little battles people fight every day. I will take this as a learning experience and use it as I make my way through nonprofit work with people who need help just as I once did. Thank you to those who give and give and give and want nothing in return, everything you do is acknowledged, maybe not by the people in your everyday life, but God and the lives you touch with the contributions you make. One thing is for certain, I believe.
